Tattoos and God
So I have this teacher who said that they didn't like it when Christians are too uptight about tattoos. This teacher said that they believed that God didn't care about tattoos as long as it wasn't vulgar. I completely disagree!!! I'm not uptight or judgemental of people who have tattoos, but I don't think God wants us to have them and I have multiple reasons why. First of all, the Bible says to treat our bodies as temples. Temples are gorgeous...tattoos are pointless images drilled into our skin that eventually fade. I also see tattoos as self-inflicted pain. They hurt a lot! Why would God want us to purposely hurt ourselves? Also, I know a lot of people, have heard a lot of people, and have seen a lot of people who use tattoos to cover a body that they think is hideous. God loves our bodies! Why would he want us to hide them? It may be true that God doesn't mind if we have tattoos, but if it's something to glorify him than why are most tattoos just that vulgar? All in all, most people choose really bad tattoos that are just pointless or they end up regretting them when the ink fades and they don't want to go through the pain anymore. If this is so why have them?
